Skin79 Gold Caviar BB Cream & Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream No.23

Posted by FridayMunchies at 11:52 AM
I'm not very big on make up; I usually only apply eyeliner and false lashes on special occasions.  I was very intrigued when I heard about BB creams.  It's like a foundation and a skin care cream at the same time! Lol. Since I don't own a foundation, I decided BB cream would be worth a try.  I currently own two BB creams:

Skin79 Gold Caviar BB Cream (left) & Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream (right)

Here are a few swatches:
Skin79 Gold Caviar BB Cream (top) & Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream (bottom)
Fresh; before oxidation.

After about 5 min.; after oxidation.

The swatches are quite thick, but you can see a clear colour change after they have had time to dry and oxidate. Both actually give a really dewy finish and does not feel cakey on the skin.  I actually can't feel it at all. Lol.  They're very light coverage, but I don't mind that.  I've owned the Gold Caviar Cream for a while now and as you can see, it is a bit lighter than the Missha.  I like to use it in the winter when I'm a bit paler and I plan to use the Missha in the summer.  The Missha has a much higher SPF, which is a must for the bright summer weather.

Both were bought on eBay.  BEWARE! THE SKIN79 BB CREAM IS KNOWN TO HAVE IMITATIONS!  Please do your research!

Overview of qualities:
Skin79 Gold Caviar BB Cream
  • SPF 25 PA++
  • Claims to whiten & improve wrinkles
  • 40 grams of product

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream No. 23
  • SPF 42 PA+++
  • Claims to whiten & help wrinkles
  • 50 mL of product
In comparison?
  • The Gold Caviar is a little bit more expensive than the Missha
  • The Gold Caviar is much thicker in consistancy than Missha
  • The Missha is a little darker than the Gold Caviar
  • Both are light coverage.  The Gold Caviar is a little heavier, just because it is thicker.
  • Both have a dewy finish
  • I like that they don't feel dry and flakey
Overall??  I love both of them =)

I know their are a lot of people who are disappointed in the limited amount of shades that BB cream come in. You have to understand that BB creams are mainly sold in the oriental region of Asia.  Generally, oriental people like to stay pale and fair.  Manufacturers have to make products that will fit their client-el.  If none of their consumers have dark skin, why would they waste money making products that they will not sell? Up until  recently, the only place you could buy BB creams (if you aren't from Asia) is from eBay from normal people, not manufacturers.  Companies have just started to expand their market and offer products to different places in the world.   The variety of shades will probably expand in time so be patient.
