Dollar Nail Art Haul

Posted by FridayMunchies at 12:27 PM
I'm a huge nail art addict, so of course I had to buy some nail foils. Dollar nail art offers a wide variety of nail foils and they're only $1 for 5 feet!  I find it WAYYYYYY better than the ones available on eBay because they cost A LOT for only a fraction of the amount you would get at dollar nail art. The only thing is, you have to buy $25 worth of items to be eligible to purchase =S I've wanted them for quite some time now and just have not been able to buy them.  I didn't want to spend $25 because I honestly was not that interested in most of their products.  I got a friend to pool in with me and we got a bunch of nail foils!

I also got 2 striping tapes because... I just wanted to.  Everything just looks so glittery and fabulous! Lol.  I haven't gotten around to using them because school keeping me very busy.  Also, my job does not allow me to wear nail polish ='( I don't know why.  However, I did so one swatch on the day I received them.

I did some press-on's for a semi formal event.

I swatched Gold Spectrum.

Sorry for the blurry and bad quality pictures!!! I really want to get a DSLR camera =/  A girl can dream can't she >=[  The application can be a bit tricky and you'll probably get a few tiny bald spots, but practice makes perfect =D  I've read that the foil does not last very long and and that adding a topcoat would completely ruin the gorgeous finish of the foil.  I didn't really experience any of those problems.  Perhaps it's because I swatched it on a false nail. Lol.  I'll definitely do an update on these.

Okay, so shipping from dollar nail art took a while!  It's probably because I live in Canada D=  I ordered on Feb. 28, they shipped the package on March 2 and I received my package on March 23. That's about 15 business days. Shipping was surprisingly not too much either!  One complaint/suggestion I would make is that the company did not update me on my purchase.  They tell you that your product would be sent out within 7 days of purchase, but just a little update on the day it is shipped would have been very nice.  But I got everything I ordered in good shape so I can't really complain.

Just a little warning for everyone, the foils can actually freeze! So if you order in the winter time or are not careful, your foils can freeze and become useless.  Make sure you test them out when you get them =)

EDIT:  My Green Lightbeams and Laser Optics do not work!!! D=
And as for the topcoat bit, I haven't found a good topcoat for them.  I don't find that they crinkle, I find they get streaky =S  You can see brush strokes because the foil is being dissolved and dragged.  I have a bunch of old clear polishes that I think work better.  They gooey-er (because they're aged)  and dry a lot slower.  Also, because they are thicker than other polishes, you can't really see the bristle dragging.

did u put the topcoat on the foil ? even if it's a fake nail i keep reading that topcoat formula reacts with the nail glue making the foil appeared "shattered." If you did use a topcoat / plain clear polish, which brand did you use?
